Why Xytal

Becoming an Employee Benefit Trust

Xytal has always been shaped by the people who give their time, skill and care to the NHS every day. Becoming an Employee Benefit Trust builds on that foundation. It brings everyone in the company closer to the direction we take and strengthens the culture we want to protect as we grow.

This change marks an important step in how we see ourselves. It creates a structure where ownership is held collectively and where success is shared across the team. It supports openness, trust and a way of working that reflects the same values we bring to our NHS partners.

Why we made the change

We reached a point in our journey where the next stage of growth needed a stronger link between our people and the future of the company. It encourages the behaviours that matter to our work, such as caring for one another, looking for better ways of doing things, taking responsibility and seeing progress as something shared across the whole team.

“Having the employees at the heart of what we do means that we are even more focussed on doing the right thing, for the right reason.”  Victoria Watts, Managing Director

What this means for our team

Becoming an EBT does not change the work we do each day, but it changes the way we move forward together.

  • It strengthens the feeling that we are a shared purpose.
  • It encourages open conversation and thoughtful challenge.
  • It creates space for people to grow and feel part of something that lasts.
  • It ensures that the benefits of our success return to the people who help create it.

What this means for our partners

For NHS teams, the shift to an EBT reinforces something many already know about us.

  • We are committed for the long term.
  • We care about the quality of our support.
  • We want to build relationships that feel steady, fair and rooted in shared purpose.

The structure behind Xytal now reflects those principles more fully. It provides confidence that our focus will stay on what matters. Practical support. Trusted relationships. Improvement that feels achievable.

Building on our values

This change follows our B Corp journey and the work we have done to strengthen how we operate. It reflects a wider commitment to work in a way that is responsible, people centred and aligned with the values we promote.

The move to an Employee Benefit Trust is part of the same path. It helps us create a healthier organisation internally so that we can support healthier systems externally.

Looking ahead

We see the EBT as the start of a new chapter. It gives us the structure to continue evolving, to strengthen how we work and to keep improving what we offer. As we grow, we want to remain a place where people feel involved, respected and able to contribute to the direction we take. Becoming an Employee Benefit Trust gives us a strong foundation for that future.
